Welcome to Community Enterprises, Inc.

2008 Annual Report
Message from the President

It is with great pleasure that I present to you the Community Enterprises 2008 Annual Report. This past year at Community Enterprises has been tremendous!  Growth of our programs and  services continued throughout the year and included the opening of a Transition Center for youths with disabilities in Manchester, Connecticut, a new office in Gardner, Massachusetts and the   addition of a Service Coordination Program in Islandia, New York.
The most substantial development this year occurred when the United Way of Connecticut awarded Community Enterprises a competitive training and employment program grant in the amount of $1,250,000 to operate the brand new training center at the Windsor, Connecticut Walgreens Distribution Center. After thirty years of  developing employment opportunities for persons with  disabilities here at Community Enterprises, I find myself truly amazed and extremely proud to be associated with the “Walgreens Project.” This is a tremendous opportunity for Community Enterprises to help make employment a reality for hundreds of Connecticut and Massachusetts residents with  disabilities.  Special thanks to Dale Thompson and Josh Wilbanks of the    Anderson County  Special Needs and Disabilities Board for pioneering the relationship with Walgreens in South Carolina and for their tremendous support.
Community Enterprises continues to make a huge difference in the lives of those we serve through our nineteen service locations. My thanks to all of our Board members, volunteers, donors, parents, employers, supporters, funders -- and especially our compassionate and dedicated employees -- for making Community Enterprises all that it is. All of your support helps make Community Enterprises “Human Service at its Best.”

I wish you all the best for a safe and happy holiday season and a great 2009!
