PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Program located in secondary school setting at Manchester Community College. A unique partnership which involves Community Enterprises Inc., MCC and local businesses.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • 17 YEARS OR OLDER WITH A MENTAL OR PHYSICAL DISABILITY
  • Motivated to participate in the program
  • Sufficiently independent to navigate a college campus
  • Must have a transportation plan developed, or available for transportation training
  • Able to function without line of sight supervision
  • Independent Job placement as a Realistic Goal

    SERVICES PROVIDED:

    For Program Participants:

    Participants who meet eligibility criteria are trained in all phases of Food Service Industry and placed in competitive wage positions upon completion of course study. Assessment, Training, Placement and Follow-Along for at least 6 months subsequent to employment start date. Coordination with Kennedy Center trainers to provide transportation training for students.

    For College Enrolled Students:

    Students, tomorrow's restaurant and hotel owners and managers, gain first hand experience working with people with disabilitiess, as potential employees and co-workers.
