BUSINESS SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Program located in secondary school setting at Manchester Community College. A unique partnership which involves Community Enterprises Inc., MCC and local businesses

Candidates must:
Have a diagnosed developmental disability due to mental retardation, learning disabilities, behavior disorders or mental illness. Other conditions may be present, such as a secondary diagnosis of physical impairments. Candidates frequently have multiple disabilities.
Have a minimum of 4th grade reading level (however other criteria will be considered).
Be committed to completing a one-year program.
Have an interest in working in the clerical/business field.
Have independent employment as a realistic goal and be motivated to work.
Be able to navigate a college campus independently.
Have transportation available to Manchester Community College.
Services Provided
The overall program goal is to effectively train adults with developmental disabilities in a variety of clerical and office skills and place them in career oriented independent clerical positions working within the business community. The program includes assessment, training, placement and follow-along. This program has be used by school systems as a fifth year program.
