Participants from Community Enteprises' Windsor office work at C & S Wholesale Grocers, Suffield, CT |
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Program offers individual or group enclave supported employment situations based upon Person- Centered Planning Process which assesses individual career interest, aptitudes and skill levels. |
What is success?
For many it is money, prestige and power.
For others, it is the dignity and self respect that comes from gainful employment. There is nothing that compares to knowing that you have personally earned your own money. Anyone that has ever searched for a job and been turned down, perhaps even several times, can relate to an overwhelming feeling of relief, that, finally, someone is willing to give you a chance. It's all you ever wanted, just a chance to prove that you can be a valuable employee.
Recently, C&S Wholesale Grocers has done just that. They have given nine participants from Community Enteprises an opportunity to succeed, a chance to earn a paycheck. It is more than monetary; it is a renewed sense of self worth for these individuals.
